The adapter harness is required to install a standard XBB Dongle® on car models built on Mercedes’ new MRA2 platform. On these car models, it is not possible to connect the XBB Dongle® in the traditional way via the vehicle’s diagnostic port (OBD2 connector). Instead, the XBB Dongle® must be connected to the internal CAN-bus network. The recipes for these models can currently be found under PP-CAN.

This type of installation is significantly more advanced than a standard XBB Dongle® installation, and we therefore strongly recommend leaving it to a vehicle bodybuilder or automotive workshop equipped with the proper tools and solid knowledge of vehicle electronics.

Note!
In addition to the adapter cable (Part No: IDAB-2025-0113-1), the correct hardware version of your XBB Dongle® is also required. It must support CAN-FD, which is available starting from hardware model XBB Dongle 2. This version has been manufactured and delivered since June 2024.
