PP-CAN-FD\u00ae is a programmable CAN and CAN FD gateway for permanent installation in vehicles. It looks like an XBB PowerUnit\u00ae on the outside but also has the functions of the XBB Dongle\u00ae built into the same unit. This means you do not need an XBB Dongle\u00ae in installations where PP-CAN-FD\u00ae is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How it works<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

PP-CAN-FD\u00ae connects directly to the vehicle's CAN bus, interprets the vehicle's signals according to the recipe you choose and controls its two outputs accordingly. Typical use is control of auxiliary lights and accessories, where a load is to follow a vehicle function such as high beam or ignition. The unit also acts as master for other XBB products, which it reaches over an encrypted 2.4 GHz radio link. Up to three XBB modules, for example XBB PowerUnit\u00ae, XBB PowerUnit 6\u00ae or XBB Smart Button\u00ae, can be connected at the same time if the two built-in outputs are not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the XBB Dongle\u00ae, PP-CAN-FD\u00ae is not fitted in the diagnostic port but is connected to the vehicle's electrical system and CAN bus. The installation therefore requires knowledge of vehicle electrics. In return it also suits those who cannot or do not want to have anything fitted in the diagnostic port, and some car models require PP-CAN-FD\u00ae instead of the XBB Dongle\u00ae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
